Service Description:

Hydric soils are defined as those soils that are sufficiently wet in the upper part to develop anaerobic conditions during the growing season.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service identifies high quality agricultural soils as prime farmland, unique farmland, and land of statewide or local importance.
